Walt Disney's The Lion King made its grand debut at the London Westend theatre in the year 1999 and still running with packed houses at the Lyceum theatre! Julie Taymor's epic and spectacualar production is a magnificent amalgamation of live action, puppetry and wonderful sets. The classic London musical has been adapted from Disney’s classic film of the same name.

With brilliant cast of colourful characters, The Lion King has beautifully created an atmosphere of the African savannah. The show features life sized elephant and hyenas. One of the major highlights of the blockbuster London show is heart touching memorable compositions penned by song writing duo Elton John and Tim Rice. Thestory of The Lion King is set against the African pride-lands. It revolves around young Simba and his struggles to reclaim his kingdom back from his evil uncle Scar. Scar wants to get rid of his brother and his family to be the King. To be the King of Pride Rock, he conspires against his brother’s family.

The Lion King is undoubtedly one of the most loved shows and features some great relationship such as between Nala and the lion cub. Simba also forms great bonding with new friends Timon and Pumba.

This heart-warming saga of The Lion King is running with packed houses at the Lyceum theatre featuring a talented cast and musicians. The two hours and forty five minutes show is recommended for 7+ kids.

TheLyceum Theatre is located in a popular area known as as Covent Garden. This is one of the most visited, vibrant and exciting part of the city positioned in the heart of London’s Theatreland.
