Booking Period of The Lion King Extended



Here is some great news for the lovers of the Disney’s classic show, The Lion King! The blockbuster London show, The Lion King has extended its booking period until 3rd January 2016 at the Lyceum Theatre . On October 2014, the hugely loved show has celebrated its 15th anniversary in the London Westend.

Approximately 12 million theatre goers have enjoyed the much popular classic London show, whereas played for around 810, 000 guests annually. The success saga of the popular classic can be evaluated with the recent announcement made by the makers that the show has gross exceeded worldwide any of the entertainment or movie in the history of box office.

On 19th October 1999, The Lion King made its debut after previews from 24th September 1999. In the history of London Westend, this show is the sixth longest running musical. The show recently embarked upon first UK tour, where it was enjoyed by more than 1.8 million people. The show has been played across 19 countries except Antartica.

Based on a popular book by Roger Allers and Irene Mechhi, Lion King London has been penned by Elton John and Tim Rice. Additional songs are penned by Lebo M, Julie Taymor, Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer. Under the superb direction of Julie Taymor and stunning designing by Richard Hudson, the show is a complete treat for the theatre lovers. Garth Fagan’s magnificent choreography makes the show a complete thrilling experience.

The Lion King is adapted from the famous 1994 animated movie by Disney. It revolves around the birth of young Lion prince Simba and his struggle against his evil Uncle Scar, who conspires to kill Simba and his father, King Mufasa.
