King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi got killed due to the heinous plot of Scar. However, Young Simba survives the conspiracy and flees the kingdom. Later, he come backs to avenge his father’s death and to be the King.
In the year 1994, the movie version of the Lion King was released and became one of the most popular movies of Disney. The movie version won several awards during the prestigious 1995 Oscars such as awards for Best Music: Original Score for Hans Zimmer’s score and Best Music: Original Song for Elton John and Tim Rice’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

Julie Anne San Jose Renders Her Melodious Voice to The Lion King Musical


Julie Anne San Jose is one of the most loved and popular name of the Asia's Pop music. Recently, sje sang along with the cast of award winning classic London musical, The Lion King! She steps a little closer to fulfil her dream of becoming a part of The Lion King! The pop star seems to be an admirer of the great musical play. She sang, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", which was penned by Elton John.

While addressing press conference, she expressed her joy and also gratefulness to get a wonderful opportunity to sing the classic Elton John’s penned song with Lion King's theater actors. Julie Anne stated, “I watched the play and it was really really nice. Tsaka masaya, kasi I got to sing with the cast of the Lion King."

She further added that she always wanted to perform at musical theater, and would love to do in future if gets opportunity. She also stated, “I've always wanted to perform for a musical play. I know that I can't make it happen now, but I'm open to possibilities. I want to join a musical, I want to be in a musical play and explore theatre."


On being asked that if her performance would be a teaser for a surprise performance in The Lion King, she replied, "It's not a teaser, it's just really a cover, for now, but I'd love to do a musical someday, if time permits."

Special Message from Lion King London Team to Primary Pupils of Newington


Recently, a good luck message of the cast and crew of the award winning West End musical The Lion King have been sent to children at Newington Community Primary School in Ramsgate. The spectacular London musical is enjoyed by the pupils at the Lyceum Theatre in London a few weeks ago. The stunning production beautifully depicts the heritage and culture of Africa with enchanting music and ethics behind the saga of young prince Simba!
The inspiring message reads: “We heard about all the great work you are doing to get ready for your productionof The Lion King.

“Whether you are on a West End stage or in a school hall, putting on a show takes a lot of people and even more hard work. Here in London’s West End we perform The Lion King eight times a week. It takes 150 people to make the show happen each night from performers to make-up artists and stage managers to stage crew, every single person contribute to the show in a meaningful way.
“We’re thrilled that you’ve experienced the impact of The Lion King by producing your own unique version of the show. As you get ready for your opening night knows that you are now part of a global heritage.

The tale of a lion cub embarking on his journey to the throne has resonated with people on six continents, been performed in eight languages and has reached an audience of over 90 million people. Your production is now part of that legacy; thank you for joining us on the path unwinding.
“Support each other, celebrate your accomplishments and above all have fun sharing your work.
“From us all at TheLyceum Theatre in London to everyone at your school...”It is time…”

The pupils of Newington also enjoyed Wicked at the Apollo Victoria. The spell binding show is the saga of witches from Oz, at the Apollo Victoria. On May 24 and 25, the show will be presented live in the Newington Primary School’s theatre space.
