London! Year 2000 marked the debut of Walt Disney's The Lion King and still
ruling the hearts of theatre lovers. Julie Taymor's epic production is a stunning
amalgamation of live action, puppetry and mind blowing sets. The classic movie
has been enlivened upon stage featuring colourful characters.
The Lion King beautifully
creates the atmosphere of the African savannah with life sized elephant to the
lovable, yet evil hyenas. Talented duo Elton John and Tim Rice churned out some
great musical numbers such as "The Circle of Life", "Can You
Feel the Love Tonight" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".
The hearttouching saga of The Lion King is set against the backdrop of African pride-lands. The show revolves around young cub Simba and his struggles to reclaim his kingdom back. Simba is born to the King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. The evil brother of Mufasa, Scar is jealous of the newborn Prince and conspires to get rid of the King’s family to be the King of Pride Rock.
